Muse - Butterflies and Hurricanes
The band Muse has a statement: If you make us perform playback, we’ll fool you too. By switching places. Especially Matthew Bellamy seems to enjoy himself.

What’s special about Adam Lambert..?
Well, I’m not usually someone to follow American Idol. Yes, it used to be fun in the beginning, but being aired for almost a decade now, we all got a little bit bored and aren’t really entertained anymore, right? And I’m strictly speaking about a TV show here, let’s put the music aside, please.
But what’s special about Adam Lambert? Here’s a little introduction for all the Europeans who haven’t heard of him so far.

Adam Lambert was the runner-up of the 8th season of American Idol. He’s the first openly gay singer ever to be signed to a major label in the States. His appearance is eccentric and fits the zeitgeist of the upcoming decade. (Here’s his Twitter.) His album “For Your Entertainment”, which has just been released in Europe, features a lot of stars who wrote songs for him. Just to name a few: Matthew Bellamy, Pink, Linda Perry and the not-so forgotten Justin Hawkins.
Is he an artist to watch?
Musically, he’s still relying on great marketing and hype, which gives him access to the best songwriters of the time. His open homosexuality should definitely be a big thing for gay rights, so I say: YES!
I wonder what Matthew Bellamy’s reaction was, when he first read Stephanie Meyer’s dedication in one of her Twilight books. She states there, that MUSE is her all-time favourite band and inspiration for the weird Vampire novels, that creates a big main-stream cult at the moment - mostly part to brilliant marketing strategies and pretty faces.
Whoever thought, that Twilight would be the new Harry Potter was very much mistaken. The Twilight series is, strictly speaking, very boring. The characters are dull and the story lines embarrassing, esp. the more pedophile parts of it.
Hollywood works.
The soundtracks to the movies have been pretty brilliant so far and pushed bands like MUSE into a very emo audience. Why the hell did Muse actually W.R.I.T.E. a single for the upcoming “Eclipse”?
Well peeps, answer that for yourself.
The new soundtrack features brilliant artists like The Dead Weather, U.N.K.L.E., Florence & the Machine or Vampire Weekend. For some of them, it’s a further step away from sub-culture.
